Buckhead Medicine is pleased to introduce the COVID-19 Surveillance System. The purpose of this system is to evaluate your entire workforce for COVID-19 infection. Our focus is to provide clinically based surveillance for your staff in a safe and timely manner, and to distinguish between which employees should continue to work from home and which employees can more safely return to the workplace.

The benefit of the COVID-19 Surveillance System is that it creates a structured screening system within your organization which will ultimately save you time and money, but more importantly allows you to safely reduce employee downtime.

COVID-19 evaluation and testing in our office, or at your place of business or job site, facilitates the logistics of evaluating your workforce in a timely and efficient manner and generates robust surveillance reports for you to make intelligent decisions about your entire workforce.

Buckhead Medicine, established in 2008, is the premier internal medicine practice in Atlanta. We have been testing, diagnosing and treating patients with suspected or active COVID-19 infection since early March of 2020. Our medical director is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and has experience working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Our services include a physician or nurse practitioner that physically evaluates each one of your employees. These clinicians are supported by our clinical and administrative staff via HIPAA compliant telemedicine technology.

Our evaluation includes screening for COVID-19 type symptoms, targeted vital sign measurements, COVID-19 nasopharyngeal PCR testing and COVID-19 serum antibody testing.

Buckhead Medicine uses secure technology to provide employees with individual test results, in addition we provide employers with secure, epidemiologic employee surveillance reports.

Our technology driven, data collection and reporting system allows employers and employees to make more informed decisions on whether to isolate at home, work from home or safely return to work with airborne precautions.

We will bill insurance for these services. We will maintain close monitoring of your employees, address sick symptoms via telemedicine technology, and retest your employees every 4 to 6 weeks as needed to evaluate for change in COVID-19 status.

Understanding Antibody Testing for COVID-19

For Employees

Your employer is working to ensure that you remain safe and healthy during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Your employer is participating in the COVID-19 Surveillance System. They are working diligently to ensure that you are able to return to work safely. Your employer has teamed up with Buckhead Medicine to provide you with clinical evaluation and testing for COVID 19 infection. The purpose of this testing is to make an informed decision as to when you will be able to return to work with the least risk of becoming infected with COVID-19 and the least risk of infecting others with COVID 19.

In order to enroll in the program you will need to follow steps.

  1. Fill out enrollment forms by clicking on the following link: Enrollment Forms. You will be asked to upload pictures of you drivers license and insurance cards during this process.  Please note without these uploaded pictures you will not be scheduled for testing. Once you submit this form you will receive an email that will confirm that we received your information. This email will also contain a link to sign our consent to treatment and financial responsibilities documents.
  2. Please review and electronically sign the consent and financial responsibilities documents that was emailed to you.
  3. Download OhMD, our secure HIPAA compliant texting and telemedicine app. See details on OhMD below.

Once you have completed these steps you will be enrolled in the COVID-19 Surveillance System. Your employer will provide you with a location, date, and time for testing. Buckhead Medicine will also provide you with additional information as the testing date approaches.

Buckhead Medicine bills your insurance for the visit and the COVID 19 test. There is a charge for the office encounter and for the lab testing itself. These are billed to insurance. Insurance may or may not cover the encounter and the testing. Coverage is determined by your insurance company and the reason for testing. For the most part, Cigna insurance will not cover COVID 19 testing or the office encounter. We are currently out of network with most HMO’s including Kaiser, Anthem POS, Ambetter and the POS plan from BCBS. In certain situations your employer may cover these costs. Please discuss this with your employer directly.

Please keep in mind that the COVID-19 Surveillance System is not a substitute for medical care nor does it supersede any recommendations you may receive from your primary care physician or specialist.

Please also note, by enrolling in this program you are agreeing to allow your personal evaluation and testing results to be sent to your employer.

 

Details on OhMD:

We use OhMD to communicate by text and to send your COVID 19 testing results, and perform telemedicine consults, in a secure HIPAA compliant manner. Please download the app. Below are instructions on how to download the OhMD app to your smart phone

  1. Download the app by clicking one of the links above
  2. Open the app
  3. Click continue
  4. Enter your email address then click continue
  5. Enter first name and last name (ensure this is the same first and last name we have on file for you as a patient as this is an important link to establish)
  6. Create a password and agree to the terms.
  7. Enter your phone number.
  8. Then click on text me.
  9. Enter the code that is sent to you.
  10. Click patient
  11. Enter date of birth and gender
  12. Click continue
  13. Click on Dr. Edward Espinosa (if you don’t see “Dr. Edward Espinosa” go ahead and search for it on the messages screen)
  14. And send us a test text.
  15. We will respond back to ensure we are able to communicate with you.

For Employers

Thank you for your interest in Buckhead Medicine’s COVID-19 Surveillance System. Our goal is to save you time, money and safely reduce your employee downtime by providing onsite employee evaluation, testing, and reporting. Buckhead Medicine will provide you with return to work indicators for your work force as well as employee specific recommendations to allow you to make a more informed decision for your employees as they return to work. Buckhead Medicine bills insurance for each employee evaluation and lab test that we perform. We are out of network however with most HMO’s including Kaiser and Anthem POS. We are also out of network with Ambetter insurance. We do charge a set-up fee and a monthly subscription fee for this service. The details of this fee is included in our Medical Services Agreement.

Here are the steps to get started.

  1. Please fill out your company’s information in the Company Information Form. You will receive email confirmation of receipt for this document including a copy of our medical services agreement.
  2. Once you receive an email copy of our Medical Services Agreement, please review and sign document electronically.
  3. Once you sign the medical services agreement, please send a group or blast email to all your participating employees with the following verbiage: “We are participating in the COVID-19 Surveillance System offered by Buckhead Medicine. This system will serve as a way for us to monitor our employees for COVID 19 infection and infection risk. To begin the enrollment process please go to  BuckheadMedicine.com/covidclear .
